Boags Creek
Located in the Riverina area of NSW, approximately 8km south of the town of Darlington Point, the Boags Solar Farm will be on the traditional lands of the Wiradjuri people.
Currently in development phase, the project has the potential to generate up to 300 MWp of clean solar photovoltaic electricity and up to 300MW/600MWh of energy storage in the form of an integrated battery.
During peak construction, which will likely take up to 18 months, approximately 350 new full time jobs will be created. In addition, the community can expect to benefit from a positive economic flow through to local supply chains, hotels, motels, cafes, pubs, accommodation, catering, tradespeople, tools and equipment suppliers.
Once in operation, the project will employ 5 permanent positions to operate and maintain the solar farm.
The planning process will consider the co-location on sheep grazing on the completed site, continuing the agricultural use of the land.
