Development Phase
The Majors Creek Energy Storage Systems will be located next to the Ganymirra and Major’s Creek Solar Power Stations, near Woodstock in North Queensland.
A four-hour duration battery, the project will comprise two 250MW / 1,000 MWh storage systems.
Storing solar energy generated by the adjacent power station, the energy storage system enables consistent power supply and helps regulate fluctuations in solar generation. Additionally, co-locating the batteries with the solar farm minimises transmission losses and infrastructure requirement, while enhancing grid stability.
The Majors Creek Energy Storage System will be on Thul Garrie Waja country, the traditional lands of the Bindal People.
