Edify Energy is excited to announce the selection of DT Infrastructure as its preferred EPC contractor for two of its major solar and energy storage projects in Queensland:
- 720MWp (solar) and 600MW / 2,400MWh (BESS) Smoky Creek & Guthrie’s Gap projects in the Banana Shire
- 360MWp (solar) and 300MW / 1,200MWh (BESS) Ganymirra & Majors Creek projects, in the Townsville region
These advanced solar and BESS DC coupled hybrid projects will generate annually in aggregate close to 2,500,000 MWh of clean, dispatchable power, resulting in an estimated reduction of 1.39 million tonnes of CO2 emissions.
The projects will also utilise grid forming inverters that will enhance the stability and resilience of the power network.
Edify Energy CEO, Ben Warne noted the importance of this announcement saying: “We are proud of the significant role these major generators will play in the transition towards an affordable, reliable and sustainable energy future. These projects will create significant jobs during construction, support local communities and industry and assist in delivering the infrastructure needs of Queensland’s energy system consistent with the Queensland Energy Roadmap.”
DTI CEO John Anderson added: “This new partnership with Edify Energy is a great opportunity for DTI, as we continue to cement our standing as Australia’s leading renewables delivery partner.”
“Proudly we have been selected as preferred delivery partner of these two major renewable energy infrastructure projects, that will benefit the local communities and bolster supply to the grid.”
Early pre-construction and design works are continuing on both projects with construction scheduled to commence across Q1 and Q2 of 2026.
