Glenarbon
Located in the Darling Downs of south-west QLD, 65km east of Goondiwindi and 26km south-west of Inglewood on the traditional lands of the Bigambul People, the Glenarbon Solar Power Station is currently in the early-development phase.
The project, which will include solar and energy storage, is being developed by Edify and has an investigation area of approximately 1,900 hectares of cleared land. Once complete, it could generate approximately 1,555,000 MWh per annum of dispatchable renewable energy, enough to provide green, clean and reliable power to approximately 270,000 homes.
At peak construction, the project will employ around 600 people full time, recruiting regional trades, workers and businesses as much as possible. During the build, which will take approximately 30 months, the regional community can expect to benefit from the positive economic flow to local hospitality, retail and general business. Once complete, the project will employ approximately 12 people full time.
